2010 Census: Population Density

(source: http://www2.census.gov/geo/maps/dc10_thematic/2010_Profile/2010_Profile_Map_United_States.pdf)
Taken from the 2010 Census, this map shows the population densities in the United States as of 2010. The legend helps with empirical data; it shows that Americans are highly populated in world cities like Boston, New York, Los Angles, and the like. The amount of people per square mile decreases as you move from the west coast and east coast to the mid-west parts of the United States. I find this interesting because the legend provides an in-depth analysis and data that helps people understand the map. As a future Urban Planner, I feel like a map of this sort helps planners to plan accordingly.
